This project took the project team on a journey that was both challenging and exhilarating. Since choosing to use Second Life, the team has been amazed by the television, radio and press coverage it has received.
The project was undertaken at Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE (GippsTAFE™) in south-east Victoria. Glenda McPherson and Malcolm Jolly co-managed the project and were eager participants and took on many of the roles required within Second Life. While the project (involving three trials) was undertaken during term three of 2006, GippsTAFE decided to secure land in Second Life for the next two years, in order to continue using, exploring, creating and pushing the boundaries of educational opportunities in Second Life.
